If your teeth make you feel self-conscious when you smile, Invisalign in Welwyn can restore your confidence.
Our smile is the most powerful way of expressing our emotions. We smile when we are happy, flirting, embarrassed and on many other occasions. Your life can be affected in so many ways if you are reluctant to smile, because your teeth are crooked or you have unsightly gaps. Your reluctance to smile because you are embarrassed can affect your career, relationships, and indeed your entire life.
In this modern world you don’t need to be diffident when showing your teeth, you can have a bright confident smile and achieve the happy outcomes that you desire.
How can I achieve a confident, radiant smile?
By using virtually invisible aligners your teeth will be straightened and any gaps corrected to give you that perfect smile. This treatment also helps with oral hygiene as teeth that are too close together restrict the toothbrush from getting between the teeth to clean properly. Tooth decay and gum disease are caused by a variety of tooth abnormalities and aligner treatment not only creates a nicer smile, but helps to keep teeth and gums healthy. If you are ready to get started don’t delay, the later you leave it the harder it becomes to get the smile that you want.
By using virtual reality you will be able to see how beautiful your smile will look once treatment is completed.
What is Invisalign
A series of customised, virtually invisible, removable aligners will be made for you which you will replace every two weeks. Gradually the treatment will correct your teeth, eventually leaving you with a smile that you can be proud to show. If you have one tooth protruding, a pronounced overbite, an underbite, crooked teeth or gaps, the treatment will correct these imperfections.
These aligners are comfortable and can be removed so that you can maintain your oral hygiene by flossing and brushing your teeth regularly. Being able to remove the aligners means that eating and drinking are not restricted in any way. They are also tooth coloured making them discreet and virtually invisible.
Treatment depends on the original condition of your teeth and therefore the duration of the treatment could be from six months to eighteen months.
How to get the treatment
At an initial consultation with a qualified dentist an assessment will be made to determine if Invisalign is the correct treatment for your particular condition. At this time impressions of the teeth and pictures are taken, the impressions are 3D digital scans. The pictures are also very useful for comparing the before and after situation at the end of the treatment. The next stage is the dentist liaising with the aligner manufacturer until the correct custom-made device is produced.
You are then invited back for your fitting of the aligners which involves checking that they insert perfectly, In some cases interproximal reduction may be necessary to ensure a perfect fit. This may involve filing the sides of the teeth, a procedure which may be a bit uncomfortable, but is not painful.
You will receive instruction on your daily routine and when your follow-up appointments are due, this allows the dentist to assess your progress and to give regular updates.
